Wandering the streets near the harbor in Reykjavik, Iceland, I found an antiques store with a big bin of well-worn tools. One little hammer with a marred, well-used peen head called to me. It is more than 100 years old and creates the coolest pattern when the marred head hits metal. Entirely hand-forged and handmade from sterling silver, this ring is oxidized to a deep gunmetal black that fills the indentations. Then I polish the surface back up to a bright silver. This creates a beautiful, ancient-looking texture that mimics the black lava fields that stretch across the island of Iceland. The oxidization will wear like a favorite pair of jeans. The band measures 5mm wide and 1mm thick. The last photo shows this ring in a bright sterling silver finish, without any oxidization. You can choose that option in the drop-down menu next to the size menu.

I forge and hammer each ring individually for a unique finish, made to order in U.S. ring sizes.

ONE WEEK PROCESSING TIME: All my work is made-to-order, specifically for you. My turn-around time (i.e. the length of the order queue plus fabrication time) is ONE WEEK from the date of your purchase to the date of shipment. Doesn't seem so long, once you think about it :)

If you are at all unsure of the ring size, please purchase this easy, reusable finger sizer before you order the ring:

Each one of your ten fingers is a different size, so it's best not to guess.

    Unique cyclist gift!

Bike parts, letter stamps, jute twine and real leaves are impressed into the wet stoneware clay before firing. After firing the first time, a mineral stain is applied, then glazed inside and on handle with a brilliant blue-green glaze. The perfect coffee or tea companion! Since these are individually hand made, there will be small variations such as un-round shape, tiny cracks or glaze variations that do not impact the function or structure of the piece. If you have questions, please feel free to contact me directly!

All mugs are wonderful to hold and use with comfortable handles, slightly flared rim, smooth base and a balance weighted at the bottom (very hard to tip over!). It will be your go-to mug every morning!

Each handbuilt stoneware mug is made one at a time, without a potter's wheel. The making process is about 2 hours per mug, and drying must happen very slowly to avoid warping and cracking. Each mug is unique in shape, design and coloring, and holds approximately 14 oz filled to the rim.

Fired to over 2200 degrees, items meet the glaze manufacturer’s specification for food safety, and are lead-free. Stoneware is dishwasher, microwave and oven safe. Stovetop or freezer use is not recommended. Artist's mark on the bottom.

Shipping is calculated for one item to your zip code. There is no "discount" for ordering additional items, however, a refund for shipping overages will be made (generally when more than 2 items are shipped). Please see my shop policies for information about refunds for shipping.

**GIFTS** Enclosed receipt will not include pricing details. A personal note to a gift recipient can also be included, if you like!

**International Orders** Please verify your country's tariffs and fees before ordering. These are NOT included in your purchase or shipping price, and you will be responsible for paying these fees when your package arrives. I am sorry, but I cannot know what the amount will be. The tariff code for mugs is: 6911.10.45
